James Langston Hughes,  iodin of the most influential voices in African American history, was a well-known poet  born(p) in Joplin, Missouri.   Hughes was born into an abolitionist family, which was a family that wanted full civil rights to  completely  macabre people. Hughes began writing  numbers in the 8th grade, and was  pick   flavor forward class poet. The Negro Speaks of Rivers is one of Hughess most famous works, as it celebrated the voice and  understanding of the black community in a time of  colossal racial indifferences, inj   ustice, and inequality in America.
